Prison is a location in Despicable Me: Minion Rush. It is the seventeenth location to be featured in the game and was introduced in update 5.0.0 in November 2017. The location can be seen in Despicable Me 3. It is also the last location released before the 5-Year Celebration update.
Description
In the location, there can be found lockers, laundry baskets, cameras monitoring the area and it gives you a feeling of a real prison fit for Minions. The slide area is located in the showers and has water bubbles, which if you hit, soapy water splashes on the screen, giving the player a thrilling experience.
In addition, the secret area is the prison's rooftop where toilet seats can be found and a minion waiting at the end of it. This scene is taken from the Despicable Me 3 movie in which Minions attempted to break free from the rooftop after having created a big balloon with bed sheets and other equipment found in the prison.
The location is also where the special mission Minion Break, the fifth and final part of the Strike Saga, was held.
Trivia
- During the Special Mission, there were two laps to finish, but the creators of the game had reinstated the 3-lap structure in order for players to enjoy the new scenery.
- The Strike Saga was originally announced to be composed of 6 episodes, but the fifth episode Minion Break lasted longer making it impossible to fit the sixth episode before the winter holidays. Consequently, Mel Minion's remaining 10 cards would need to be given in the fifth episode, so 20 Mel cards could be found in Lap 2 and Lap 3 of update 5.0.0.
- New Achievements were added, making them a total of 72.
- During Mega Minion mode, enemy Minions are dressed as Prisoner Minion.
