Minions is an upcoming animated-comedy [1] based film about the Minions, which will be directed by Pierre Coffin.
Announcement
Minions was announced on August 21, 2012 and was set to be release on December 19, 2014. During the end credits for Despicable Me 2, Bob, Kevin, and Stuart have an audition for their title of the spin-off. In September 20, 2013, the release date was delayed until July 10, 2015.[2]
Plot
Minions are yellow henchmen, who have existed since the beginning of time, evolving from yellow single-celled organisms into beings who have only one purpose: to serve the history's most ambitious villains. After their ineptitude destroys all their masters, including T. Rex, Napoleon, and Dracula, they decide to isolate themselves from the world and start a new life in Antarctica. Sometime in 1968, the lack of a master drives them into depression, so Kevin, Stuart, and Bob set out to find a new one. They arrive at a villain convention, where they compete for the right to be henchmen for Scarlet Overkill, a stylish and ambitious villain determined to dominate the world, and become the first female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in modern London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind...from annihilation.
