The Minion Shield is an item in Minion Rush. It is can be unlocked when a costume that features it is first unlocked (after the 5-Year Celebration update) or purchased once Nefario gives them the goal to purchase it until version 5.7.0. Afterwards, the item will appear randomly throughout each run. When the player's Minion runs into this item, he will be surrounded with a circular, orange-red shield which protects them from one hit on any obstacle in their way. The Shield can be upgraded via costume upgrades with the use of coins and the costume's unique cards, however, they only make the shield last longer.
The Golden Shield is no longer found in the latest versions, however Ninja's powers feature the same effect as the golden shield. In the older versions, upgrading it to the Golden Shield allows it to take infinite hits before it's timer expires.

- The Minion Shield, along with the Banana Splitter, Minion Launcher, Freeze Ray, PX-41 and Banana Vacuum are some of the several items in the game that do not require the player to tilt the screen to use.
- In Update 2.0.1. (the Jelly Lab Update), the Minion Shield must be unlocked (if not unlocked previously) on level 22.
- There were some Jelly Lab objectives that ask the player to break through objects with the Minion Shield, which those objectives are discontinued as of the 5-Year Celebration update.
- In the previous version, no upgrade allowed the Shield to protect the player's minion from two or more hits, unless the player purchased the Golden Shield.
