- The flamethrower is one of Lucy's weapons. Her sole use of it is to block Gru's attempt to freeze her using his Freeze Ray. It has a very hi-tech, compact design similar to a pistol, befitting a member of the Anti-Villain League.
- Gru uses a typical flamethrower to melt his telephone when he gets frustrated practicing how he plans on asking Lucy out on a date.
- In El Macho's Lair, static flamethrowers are place as traps to safeguard it from intruders, although Gru bypassed them during his attempt.
