Despicable Me 3 (stylized as DESPICABLE M3) is an upcoming 2017 American 3D computer-animated film produced by Illumination Entertainment. It is the third installment in the Despicable Me film series and a sequel to 2013's Despicable Me 2. The film is scheduled for release on June 30, 2017, by Universal Pictures.
Gru is living his normal life as an agent and consultant for the Anti-Villain League as well as a lovely father and husband for Lucy.
But then, he must face against his most formidable nemesis yet in the form of Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who grew up to become obsessed with the character he played in the 80's and bent on conquering the entire world. Just as he has the task to save the world from total annihilation once again, he comes into a sibling rivalry when he unexpectedly meets his longtime lost twin brother, Dru.
Steve Burke, the NBCUniversal CEO, confirmed in September 2013, that a third film in the Despicable Me series is in the works. In January 2014, it was announced to be released on June 30, 2017.
On April 13th, 2016; During CinemaCon, Universal revealed Steve Carell to voice his character Gru and now his long-lost twin Dru, with South Park creator Trey Parker joining the cast, voicing villain Balthazar Bratt.
